The residency has a mature resident evaluation program based on the six core competencies. Each resident has a “scorecard” which grows and evolves during their training. It includes the results of their standardized tests, the OITE, professionalism and communication surveys, faculty global evaluations and focused faculty review that occur semi annually for each resident. The program director meets with each resident twice per year to discuss their progress. Each PGY group of residents meet informally with the department chairman and program director on a yearly basis to discuss issues pertinent to their year in training.
